Commercial stores and shops at Hohoe in the Volta region, continue to flout the Bank of Ghana directive, which asked for the simultaneous display of prices of wares in the old and new Ghana cedis with the exception of Melcom Stores.

At the Melcom stores, prices have been exclusively synchronized when the Ghana News Agency visited the commercial establishments at Hohoe to assess the situation.

An Optima Standing fan sold at ¢725,000 and 72.5 Ghana Cedis, prices on tag for 29 inches Sanyo television attracted ¢3,290,000 an equivalence of 329 Ghana Cedis.

Ms Juliet Agboyo, Assistant Manageress of Melcom said management heeded to the May 1 directive as their contribution to facilitating the education processes toward the change over in July, this year.

A total of 10 stores whose proprietors and proprietress could not provide any excuse however promised to comply with the directive even though they displayed the conversion charts and specimen of the new cedi notes.

Fuel stations and hotels also failed to conform to the directive.
