Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Minister for Education, Science and Sports, has urged candidates sitting for this year's West Africa Secondary Schools Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to desist from any unacceptable conduct that may put the examination into disrepute.

"In your interest, I implore you to desist from any unacceptable conduct that may have the tendency to bring the examination into disrepute and also bring untold hardship to you and your parents and the community at large," he said.

In a goodwill message, the Minister said, "This is the period of reckoning and I believe in your ability to perform creditably in the examination. Indeed your teachers have over the period, prepared you adequately for the task ahead."

Papa Owusu-Ankomah called on candidates to conduct themselves properly in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the examination.

This is the second time that candidates in Ghana are participating in the WASSCE which starts on Tuesday May 8.
