WAEC investigates allegation of cheating in examinations

Michael Adjei, Western Regional Controller of the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), on Friday said there has been allegation of cheating in the WASSEC examination at the Esiama Senior Secondary School centre in Nzema East District.

Mr. Adjei said a team from the head office of WAEC has gone to the school to investigate the allegation and would issue a report on its finding.

He said 9,874 students from 44 schools are taking the West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSEC) in the region.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Sekondi, he said reports' reaching his office indicates that the examinations are going on as planned.

Mr. Adjei said there have not been reports of shortage of examination materials.
