The president of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), William Yamoah has responded to allegations by the Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the NDC, that the NUGS has neglected students in the face of high increases in fees at the country’s universities.

Speaking to Joy News, Yamoah said the claims by TEIN lack substance and are only aimed at inciting students against the Union and the government.

The Kumasi branch of the TEIN told a news conference in Kumasi on Wednesday that the various student leaders and NUGS have failed to defend the interest of students in the face of astronomical increases in Academic Facility User Fees (AFUF), and harsh policies of the government and university authorities.

The NUGS president, countering the allegations, said that they have been working on the quiet to address the issues, instead of using force
