MICHAEL Dankwah, aka Owuraku Mickey, who set out to produce something
of a novelty with his album, Champion Lover, has resurfaced with another one to show his seriousness in creating his own brand of music in Ghana and beyond.

He calls this album “Ma To Odo Mu” which comprises 11 tracks and is a mixture of Ghanaian rhythms and foreign beats. This combination, according to him, is meant to take Ghana’s music to the international level.

“The men, in particular must stop breaking women’s heart. If you love someone, let the person know that you love her and don’t beat about the bush. That is why I have come out with this album,” he said.

To him, love is a state of being closely knitted to somebody through affection or faith or having a strong positive emotion, regard and affection for the person.

“Anybody who buys my album and listens to it will get to another stage of love”.
As part of promoting his new album, he has already performed in South Africa and Nigeria. He said he was amazed by the positive response he received from the people in these countries.

“They liked the songs so much, though it was their first time of hearing me. I have also been invited to perform in Germany and USA,” he said.

According to his manager, Mr. Kofi Poku, he would perform at some of the concerts lined up to mark Ghana’s Golden Jubilee celebrations to be held in March.

Owuraku said he wants to launch “Ma To Odo Mu”, in March. The album has very good songs like “U Brighten Ma World”, “U Dey Make My Day”, “Mansa” and “Damabi”.

Owuraku said he realised his musical talent at a very tender age and had to pursue his dream of engineering to become a musician.

He is a product of Accra High School where he did Business Management. He is now a professional musician, as well as a businessman.
