Batman Samini to Perform @ GLO CAF Awards Night

LAST WEDNESDAY 21st February 2007 in Accra, a press conference was held by Globacom limited for the commencement of the annual Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards for the year 2007.

In a speech delivered by Mr. Bode Opeseitan, Head of Public Relations and Outdoor Advertising for Globacom Ltd, he noted that the GLO-CAF awards is poised to touch lives in Africa especially that of the youth who find expression of their talents through football.

He said the event will be managed by True Colours Group, a South African Events Management company whose selection was the outcome of a careful assessment of pitches from some of the world's best companies in the industry and the decision to bring the group was informed by their quest to continuously improve and add style to this African football event.

It is also pursuant to the company's promise to take African football to new heights through GLO- CAF Awards. A platform will be created to reward excellent performance and contributions to the beautiful game.

In this direction, he noted that the group has come up with a number of artistes who will thrill the continent with musical performances that are distinctively African.

Top on this list is Batman Samini, the wave making Ghanaian reggae star whose fame has extended beyond the shores of Ghana; Nigeria's Lagbaja, who had a command performance last year; Petit Megelito from Benin Republic and the Grammy Award winners, Soweto Gospel Choir and the famous songstress Yvonne Chaka Chaka from South Africa.

On March 1st 2007 at the Accra International Conference Centre, not only will football be acknowledged but music will also be celebrated with a clash of the titans.
