The next time hiplife musician, C-Zar who is popular for his release "Araba Lawson" (Adenta Housing) releases an album, he may sing about daylight robbery.

The enterprising musician also known as Augustine Osei Owusu recently came face too face with some tricksters who succeeded in convincing him to part with 24 million cedis worth of electrical hardware that he was selling in his shop.

According to the hiplife lyricist, at about 1.30 pm on Monday, March 12, an electrician (name withheld) came to purchase some cables and wires estimated at about 24 million cedis and requested that the goods should be sent to a site at Kasoa in the Central Region.

He said together with the electrician he hired a taxi, packed the goods into it and sent them to Kasoa as requested.

At Kasoa, they offloaded the goods and the electrician asked that they should go to CP Junction for the money, where two men who claimed to be police officers in mufti apprehended them.

The men who possessed handcuffs claimed the electrician had purchased some materials with fake currency and that they had come to arrest him.

They started beating him up, pushed him into a vehicle and sent him away.

The musician went to the Kasoa Police where he learnt that no such incident had been reported there, neither had any policemen been sent out to make any arrests.

Realizing that he had been swindled, he filed a report at the station and upon a tip-off, the electrician and an accomplice were arrested.

The police when contacted confirmed the story and said investigations were under way.

The police said the electrician who was in police cells had provided the contact number of the "intended buyer" who had agreed to return the goods to C-Zar "since he did not want to be involved in any criminal case".

The suspect (electrician) led the police to a market in Accra where some of the cables were retrieved.

Further investigations later led to the retrieval of the remaining goods whilst the suspects still remain in police custody to be arraigned before court.
