With all roads leading to the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday night where the annual Joy FM Night with the Stars musical concert thumps, all eyes will be on who among the artistes turns out the best showman.

Already Kwaw ‘Abodam’ Kesse has called the contest in his favour, rebranding Saturday’s encounter as the ‘Night with the Star’.

It may be no prank, but Kwaw Kesse who stormed last year’s edition on a palanquin set on a four-wheel cart drawn by a macho man, may need more than victory declarations.

The high flying group, Praye, with their in thing, Angelina, have an all new act along the song and could be the pace-setters on the day.

But who can ignore Kwaku Gyasi, ever fresh and powerful as he pumps out sweet gospel songs accompanied by manly, sweat-inducing, soldierly choreographs? Kwaku may as well be the man to beat.

Throughout this week, the various artistes performing on the night have had turns in the studios of Joy FM ‘bragging’ what could, for them, define their acts – reasons why patrons have no excuse to stay away.

The Joy FM Night with the Stars this year is sponsored by telecoms giant, MTN and Star Beer, and lines up an impressive array of the industry’s crème de la crème; SAMINI, Castro, Edem, Asem, R2Bees, Richie, and Sarkodie.

Tic Tac, KK Fosu, Chemphe, Okyeame Kwame, Tinny, 4X4, Five Five, Bradez and the lone female for the day, Christiana Love complete the hot list of household names.

Joy FM Night with the Stars is in its eighth season.

Tickets for the all-night-long bash are at GH¢40 and available at the Front Desk of Joy FM, Kokomlemle.

The gates open at 8pm.
