Empawa artiste J.Derobie has disclosed that releasing his new song ‘Odo Bra’ was to give his fans a new side of him.
J.Derobie, since his emergence in the music scene through the Empawa100 program, has always been seen doing Dancehall/Reggae music.
His first single ‘Poverty’ had been a hit not only because many people could relate to it but also a celebration of a new and Reggae/Dancehall act who would take the game to the next level.
The artiste after ‘Poverty’ dropped ‘Irie’ which was purely Reggae music.
However, J.Derobie, in an interview with JoyNews’ MzGee, said that he does not want to be restricted on only one genre of music.
“I decided this time around let me show Ghanaians I can do Afrobeat as well with ‘Odo Bra’,” he told MzGee.
J.Derobie said the response to his new song has been good although it took many people by surprise. Also, he decided to approach love, a subject he has not touched before because humans cannot live without love.
