The Ministry of Tourism and Diasporan Relations has named this year's edition of the Paragliding Festival after the late Special Assistant to the Tourism Minister, Ferdinand Ayim.

This year's festival is the third being organised by the Ministry and is christened "the Pepsi Ferdinand Ayim Atibie International Paragliding Festival" in honour of the late Special Assistant who lost his life in a car accident on April 7 last year during preparations for last year's festival in the Kwahu mountains.

Announcing this at the launch of the festival, Tourism Minister, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, said 20 international paragliders from Europe and Africa have confirmed their participation in the event due to take place from 5th to the 7th of April.
