In spite of government’s commitment and effort to providing infrastructural and logistical needs for the health institutions to make health care accessible to all, some health centres still continue to suffer in terms of various needs that when present, could have enabled such hospitals to perform better.

The Tepa government hospital seems to have found itself in the entanglement of this situation.

Inadequate staffing is the major problem that confronts the hospital as much weight is laid on the shoulders of the scanty medical staff at the hospital.

These were made known by the acting medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Akuamoah Boateng during the annual get-together of the hospital held at the premises of the hospital in the Ahafo Ano North District of the Ashanti region.

Dr. Akuamoah Boateng called on government to as a matter of urgency provide more medical staffs to enable the hospital to deliver quality health care to the people of Tepa and its environs.

He also appealed to government and public spirited individuals to come to the aid of the hospital as it currently needs a surgical ward to facilitate health care delivery in the area.

Dr. Boateng commended the staff for their hard work and dedication to the hospital and urged them not to rest on their oars but to continue to give off their best this and subsequent years.

Giving an overview of the hospital’s performance last year, the administrator of the hospital, Dr. Collins Kesseh said, though the hospital faced numerous challenges last year, it still performed creditably as no maternal death was recorded in the year under review. Accidents and emergency services as well as mortuary services were provided.

According to Dr. Collins Kesseh an outpatient department attendance also increased.
