A monthly performance review meeting for 150 community based surveillance volunteers (CBS) drawn from 92 communities in the Ahafo Ano North District has ended at Tepa.

It was organised by the district directorate of health services to find out whether its health targets had been achieved and come out with other strategies that could help reduce the incidence of diseases in the district.

Mrs Elizabeth Addai Antwi, the District Director of Health Services said the directorate appreciated the role played by health volunteers in the communities.

She urged them to redouble their efforts in mounting close surveillance for the detection of diseases and give the directorate the feedback for immediate action.

Nana Adu Bobi, the District Disease Control Officer, called on the volunteers to sensitise women in their communities on the importance of family planning to enable them prevent unwanted pregnancies.

The volunteers appealed for incentives to boost their morale.
