A Kumasi circuit court on Wednesday sentenced Isaac Aikins Amoah, an unemployed to 24 months imprisonment in hard labour for causing damage to a bus belonging to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Nursing Training College (NTC).

Amoah pleaded guilty to the charge of causing damage to the vehicle and was convicted on his own plea.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Regina Kesewaa, prosecuting, told the court, presided over by Ernest Yao Obimpeh, that on November 10 this year, at about 9pm, the complainant who is a student at the NTC, saw Amoah at the College car park, hitting the vehicle with a club.

DSP Kesewaa said the complainant called for assistance to arrest the convict and was sent to the Kumasi Central Police Station.

DSP Kesewaah said upon examination of the vehicle, it was realised that its front windscreen, back screen, foreside glasses, headlights and parking lights were destroyed.

She said the accused person complained that some of the students repeatedly teased him when he returned from prison recently, hence his action.
