The Food and Drugs Board (FDB) on Monday warned the public of an unregistered cosmetic product called Ever Care Cream on market.

The Board in a statement signed by the Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Agyarko on Monday said the product, was an imitation of Ever Sheen Cream, a registered cocoa butter cream.

It said the imitation cream has a manufacturer’s name as Zim stores, in England whilst the registered Ever Sheen was manufactured in Cote D’Ivoire by Spiraco-Ci Company.

It noted that the Ever Care Cream was not registered and will not be able to guarantee its quality, efficacy or safety.

“The Board therefore wishes to advise the general public not to patronise the product and further advises the public to notify the FDB whenever they find the product anywhere in the country”.

The Board asked pharmacies, chemical shops, supermarkets, cosmetic shops and other outlets, which have stock of the imitation cream to immediately withdraw from their shelves.

The Board said it was embarking on a nationwide surveillance to ensure the withdrawal of the product from the market and called for assistance from the general public.
