The Atwima-Nwabiagya branch of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) has appealed to the government and other stakeholders in education to offer some form of assistance like furniture and building materials among others to private schools in the District to improve infrastructure and to enhance teaching and learning.

A statement issued at Nkawie and signed by Mr Augustine Kyei Ababio, District Chairman of the Association, said in-spite of all the efforts private schools were making towards the improvement of education, teachers in their schools were not considered for selection to attend seminars and workshops organized by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

He said in the event of private school teachers being invited for seminars, they were made to pay for the full cost of the event.

The statement enumerated a number of successes chalked by private schools in the provision of quality education and said this was a clear testimony that the private schools were doing very much to promote high standards in education in the country.

The Association expressed the hope that the GES would do well to contribute immensely towards the provision of quality education to all children of school going age.
