The Board of Trustees of the Danny Whyte and Ivor Burford Leukemia Trust has said it is determined to continue with the work started by its late founder, Mr Danny Whyte.

Mr Whyte died on Tuesday at the Kings College in the United Kingdom after almost three years of battling with leukemia.

The Board said it is devastated by the death of its founder but expressed the hope that it would carry on with the good works of Mr Whyte.

“The DWIB Board is devastated by this loss; however, we wish to affirm our determination to continue with the invaluable work that our Founder Danny Whyte lived for,” a statement on DWIB’s website said.

DWIB has established a bone marrow register at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra to collect bone marrow samples for the treatment of patients living with the disease.

A lawyer and Spokesperson for the Trust, Mr Ken Brookman Amissah told Joy News that the trust is counting on support from the public to support patients suffering from leukaemia.

Meanwhile books of condolence have been opened at the DWIB Secretariat at Osu, No. 3 OSU-LA ROAD, opposite the Total Fuel Station near the Castle junction, Osu, and also at the HEADLINES HOSPITILITY, opposite Alisa Hotel, Labone.
