Amidu Tanko, a driver who entered the room of his rival and harmed him, had been granted a five-million- cedi bail by an Asamankese Circuit Court to re-appear on June 18 this year.

The court further directed the police to conduct further investigation into the case.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Kate Ogyiri told the court that, the complainant, Stephen Lartey, a Mechanic, was asleep in his room when he heard a loud bang on his door.

When he woke up, he saw Tanko armed with torchlight and a knife in his room and before he could enquire his reason for coming to his house, Tanko hit him with the torchlight and he started bleeding profusely.

The prosecutor said Tanko then pulled a knife and stabbed Lartey who then struggled with him and managed to take the knife from him.

A report was lodged with the police and Tankoh was arrested and charged before the court.

In his explanation, Tanko admitted entering Lartey's room but explained that he did so to collect his baby from his wife who was sleeping with Lartey.
