A severe rainstorm hit Abodom and Subi in the Kwaebibirem District at the week-end and damaged school blocks in the two towns.

At Abodom, the six-classroom block of the Presbyterian Primary School, said to be over 60 years old had its roof ripped off and the building badly damaged.

The Assembly woman of the town, Mrs. Gladys Yamoah after visiting the school said it would be fruitless trying to rehabilitate the building.

She therefore called on the Kwabibirem District Assembly and other organizations and individuals to help build a new block for the school.

At nearby Subi, the storm ripped off the roof of the Presbyterian Junior Secondary School workshop, the form three classroom, library and the head teacher’s office.

Last March, a similar rainstorm caused havoc in seven towns in the district.

Three schools, four churches and 68 houses were damaged at Nkwantateng.
