Pastor arrested for attempted murder

The swift intervention of two policemen to disarm a pastor of his shot gun stalled an imminent murder of a businessman Kennedy Adjei of Ahodwo, a suburb of Kumasi.

Pastor Solomon Adumako, head of the Heaven’s Gate Chapel at Ahodwo was said to have owed Adjei GH c35, 600 (356 million cedis) which he failed to pay back.

Last Friday, Adjei and his wife in the company of two security details went to the Pastor’s house at Ahodwo to demand the money he owned him.

Pastor Adumako on seeing Adjei and his wife with the plain clothes policemen was said to have dashed for a gun and aimed at him.

The policemen acted swiftly and disarmed the pastor and took him to the Zongo Divisional Police Command which immediately granted him an enquiry bail.

Adjei said he had been doing business in “drifornia”, a herbal medicine.

He sad he is domiciled in Spain and has been exporting the leaves to Germany.

The pastor, he said did the shipment and later collected the amount on his behalf, he made efforts to collect the money but the pastor had been playing hide and seek with him.

“I, therefore contacted the Zongo police who detailed two policemen to accompany me to the Pastor’s house only for him to pull out a gun on me,” he said.

The Zongo Divisional Command, when contacted confirmed the incident but declined to give more details.

When contacted for his side of the story, the mobile phone of the pastor was switched off.
