An Asamankese Circuit Court has fined Roger Appiah 27, a driver GH¢500 (Five million cedis) on his own plea for unlawful entry and stealing. He would serve two years imprisonment in default. Police Chief Inspector Joseph Idan, prosecuting told the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah, that Mr Kwasi Darko; complainant was a trader at Asamankese-Anum while the accused resides at Oworam. He said on June 11, at about 1000 hours, Appiah who once lived in the same house with the complainant visited him and complainant informed the accused that he (complainant) would travel to Nyanoa and they parted company.
The prosecution said when complainant return from his trip he noticed that someone had opened his door with a duplicate key and had made away with some jewellery, a wrist watch, a belt, a bottle of perfume, two MTN cards and a torch. He said upon enquiries, the complainant realised that it was the accused who stole the items. The prosecution said sometime in August, complainant spotted the accused at Asamankese, raised the alarm and he was arrested and handed over to the police who after investigations charged him with the offence.
