The deputy Inspector General of Police, Dr. K. K. Manfo is due to retire from the service effective from September 1, 2007.

Three other senior officers are also expected to proceed on leave as they retire from the service.

The three other officers are ACP Victor Tandoh, the Head of the Motor Traffic Transport Unit, ACP Fatima Fuseini, Divisional Commander for Kaneshie and the Accra Regional Commander, DCOP Akrofi Aseidu.

Joy News sources at the Police Headquarters said the four have attained the retirement age of 60 years and the Police Council has formally written to them.

The sources said both Dr. Manfo and Mr. Akrofi have acknowledged receipt of their letters of retirement and together with the others they have began packing as September 1 approaches.
