Twelve Ghanaian convicts have been deported from Spain to continue their sentences in Ghana.
The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) handed over the prisoners to Ghanaian prison officials in Accra on Monday.
The convicts were among 56 Ghanaians who have been deported from Spain.
Under Spanish law, convicted foreigners who have served one-third of their sentences are sent to their home countries to continue their jail terms.
Ghana last month passed the Transfer of Convicted Persons Bill to allow its citizens who have been convicted abroad to serve their sentences in the country.
Officials of the GIS said it is unable to say if the deportation of the convicts was done in accordance with the Act.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, another 156 Ghanaian illegal immigrants have been deported from Libya.
