A circuit court in Kumasi has remanded a 25-year-old truck pusher for allegedly possessing a quantity of leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

Kwadwo Moro's plea was not taken since the leaves have been sent to the Police Forensic Laboratory in Accra for examination and will re-appear on September 18.

Police Chief Inspector Wilfred Salia told the court presided over by Mr Richard Kogyapwah that on August 28 this year, the Narcotic Control Unit of the Police Service upon a tip-off and went to Abuakwa near Kumasi where Moro was found wrapping some dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

He was arrested with the exhibits and during his caution statement to the police Moro admitted the offence, but refused to disclose the source of his supply.
