Mrs Georgina Asamoah, a retired educationist and a strong on women and children's issues in the Awutu Effutu Senya District of the Central Region has been confirmed as the new Board Chairperson of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme (AESDMHIS).

Mrs Asamoah takes over from Mr Felix Kwei-Tagoe, a retired banker and former Chairman of the Board who voluntarily resigned early this year after completing his two-year term.

In his absence Mrs Asamoah, the former Vice-Chairperson acted successfully as Chairperson of the Board until her confirmation.

At the Board's meeting at Winneba on Friday, where she was confirmed, the Board also appointed Nai Kwao-Korabi Clottey III, a representative of the Awutu Traditional Council as Vice Chairman.

Mrs. Georgina Asamoah and Nai Kwao-Korabi thanked other members of the Board for the honour done them and gave their assurance of a credible leadership.

The two expressed optimism that the objectives of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) would be achieved and charged all Ghanaians, devoid of partisan sentiments to put their wheels together for the total attainment of the set goals.

Members of the new Board stressed the importance of teamwork and further charged workers of the Scheme to show extra commitment, dedication and hard work in every section of the Scheme for quality and uninterrupted performance to achieve success.
