The Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panyin II has asked African leaders whether they are not tired of being at the receiving end all the time.
Sounding furious and baffled at the rather disturbing level of poverty in Africa, the Okyenhene wondered why Africans want to continue to hold an exclusive franchise on poverty.
Speaking at a recently held Forestry Investment Forum in Accra, Amoatia Ofori Panyin II called for an attitudinal change in order for the state of Africa to change.
According to him, Africa's problems are the result of mismanagement of its natural resources, and urged leaders as well as stakeholders not to be afraid to change certain things which have outlived their usefulness in the journey to development.
Africa, according to the Okyenhene, who is also an advocate for the preservation of the country's natural reserves, has missed the industrial revolution, agricultural revolution and somehow the information technology revolution. He however stressed the fact that Africa does not need to miss the forestry revolution.
The Forestry Investment Forum was meant for African countries and foreign investors to find investment opportunities in the forestry reserves of Africa.
The Okyenhene noted that though investment comes with profit and equity, investors must not forget about service to humanity.
He also noted that sustainable development can only be effective if the people are seriously involved in whatever projects they are into.
