A 25-year-old unemployed man, has appeared before a magistrate's court at Bibiani for causing damage to the personal belongings of the parents valued at GH˘300 and threatening the life of the mother.

Seidu Musah, who pleaded guilty to the charges, attempted to run away whiles in the dock but was arrested.

A fresh charge of escaping from the dock was preferred against the accused who was remanded to re-appear on September 14 for sentence.

Police Inspector Samuel Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr Dickson Dakatsey that both Musah and his parents lived at Sefwi-Awaso.

Prosecution said on September 1, the accused without any cause took a pickaxe and caused damage to the floor of his parents' bedroom and personal belongings.

Inspector Tawiah said Musah also destroyed his own mobile phone and later ordered the mother to pay for the phone or face death.
