The Supervising Director for Africa and Regional Integration Department, C N. Kortey is calling on the media to play an advocacy role in the dissemination of information to the grassroots to compliment efforts being made by ECOWAS to improve upon the situation of the government and people’s of West Africa.

He also believes the media’s effective role could also contribute positively to the achievement of the sub-region’s integration goals.

According to him, the lack of information flow to the ordinary citizenry has slowed the pace of the ECOWAS integration process.

The call was made at a workshop organized for media personnel in Western and Central regions on ECOWAS protocols and programs.
