The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ave-Avenor, Mr. Doe Adjaho, has called on government to constitute a Commission of enquiry into the clashes at Anloga on Thursday in which six people, including a Police Constable were killed.

Mr Adjaho made the call at Anloga on Friday when he and MPs from Anlo, Ketu-South and Ketu-North came to assess the situation following clashes triggered by the purported installation of a new Awoamefia of Anlo.

He said the Police had shown that they were an interested party to events at Anloga; made more so by the loss of their colleague and could therefore not conduct impartial investigations into events there.

Mr Adjaho said the Police were well aware of the undercurrents to Thursday's clashes, which they could have prevented if they had acted professionally.

He said the Police could have used their powers under the Public Order Act to advise against the holding of public events at Anloga where there was evidence of tension.

Mr Adjaho advised all parties to the dispute in the area to exercise restraint and allow the law to take its course.

Meanwhile two out of the 14 injured persons were still on admission at the Keta Government Hospital in stable condition, Dr Felix Tsidi, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital told the Ghana News Agency.
