Government on Friday lifted the dusk to dawn curfew imposed on Anloga and neighboring towns in the Volta Region.

However, no one, except an authorized officer of the law, is allowed to carry guns and ammunition in previous hot spots including Anloga, Keta and a few other towns.

Recent chieftaincy clashes led to the curfew which Information Minister Oboshie Sai Coffie says has resulted in the present state of peace and tranquility.

A government statement says police and military personnel will remain on standby to keep the peace. Additionally, an order has been issued restraining local leaders, including the Anlo Traditional Council and King makers from enstooling, outdooring or swearing in any claimant to the throne of Anlo.

The statement said a ban on any such activity remains in full force.
