A 34-year-old farmer who stole GH¢2,500 at Bankyease near Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South District has been jailed 36 months by the Mankranso Magistrate Court. Kwasi Frimpong pleaded guilty. Police Inspector Abraham Agyei Mensah told the court that about four years ago, the accused fell sick and Opanyin Kojo Boye, a fetish priest in the village, healed him. He said about a month later, Opanyin Boye detected the theft of his money and three days later the convict left the house and rented a room at Mankranso. On October 12, a tenant of Opanyin Boye visited the convict and was surprised to see his room well decorated with a carpet, a room divider, a wardrobe, a television set, wall clock and others and informed the old man. A report was made to the Mankranso Police who arrested him.
