A Takoradi Circuit Court on Tuesday granted Daniel Eshun, unemployed, a bail of GH¢150 for allegedly attempting to defraud by false pretences.

The accused pleaded not guilty and is to re-appear on December 13 this year.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Kumah Mensah, said at about 1045 hours on November 22 this year, the accused who resides at Essikado went to the banking hall of the harbour branch of Ecobank.

He then posed as a staff of the bank and approached a customer who wanted to deposit some money into his account.

He said the accused asked the customer to give him the money to make the deposit on his behalf.

Chief Inspector Mensah said the customer became suspicious and inquired from the cashier whether the accused was a staff at the bank.

He said the accused left the banking hall while the customer was making the inquiry, but the cashier alerted the bank's security and the accused was arrested and handed over to the Police.
