The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Osei-Assibey Antwi, has advised Muslim parents to take advantage of the new educational reform and take their children to school to equip them for the future.

He said that by so doing, the children would not become a burden on the society by indulging in criminal activities.

The Deputy Minister said this in Kumasi on Wednesday during Muslim prayers to mark the Eid-Ul-Adha.

Mr. Osei-Assibey said it was high time Ghanaians obeyed the laws of the land because that would make Allah hear and respond to their prayers.

The Deputy Regional Minister appealed to Muslims to pray towards the success and peaceful congress of the New Patriotic Party which comes off on Saturday as well as the Ghana 2008 football tournament since all eyes would be on Ghana during the period.

Mr. Osei-Assibey donated GH¢1,000 (¢10million) on the behalf of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to the Muslim community for the celebration.

Alhaji Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, an Islamic scholar who led the prayers prayed for peace and unity of the nation.
