A 23-year-old untrained teacher has been remanded into prison custody by the Mankranso Magistrate Court in Ahafo-Ano South District for threatening to kill his “rival” whom he claimed had snatched his girlfriend.

Akwasi Boateng pleaded guilty to a charge of offensive conduct.

He however pleaded not guilty to the charge of threatening to kill and would re-appear on March 4, 2008.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Abraham Agyei Mensah told the court presided over by Mr. Frank Owusu-Afriyie that about six months ago the accused insulted Mr Charles Osei for snatching his girlfriend.

In addition to the insults hurled at Mr Osei, Boateng also threatened to kill him if he continued befriending the lady.

Mr Osei reported the conduct of Boateng to the uncle who brought the two together in an attempt to settle the matter but Boateng assaulted Mr Osei and pulled his ear.

A report was then made to the police who arrested the accused from his hideout.
