The case involving Thomas Osei, the man at the centre of the President's accident, was on Wednesday adjourned because the prosecution failed to bring the docket on the case to court.

This was realised when Sergeant Christian Korda of the Central MTTU who wanted to refresh his memory on a particular date during cross-examination by Mr Kwame Boafo Akuffo, Counsel for Osei, could not have access to the docket.

According to the prosecution the Chief State Attorney, Mr Edward Agyeman Doudu who was handling the case was out of the country and asked for adjournment.

Mr Akuffo, who was not convinced by the prosecution's excuse said the prosecution was just playing tricks with the trial.

Earlier, Sergeant Korda in his testimony told the court that the charges of speeding and dangerous driving preferred against the accused were correct.

He said the statements of the Rev. King Joe Osei Kufour and Mr Isaac Nyarko of the Community Police were taken on that day.

Meanwhile, the prosecution has applied for the certified copies of the medical reports of Mr Emmanuel Addo Sarfo, the President's driver and Rev. King Osei Kufuor, the owner of the VW Golf car that was also involved in the accident.

Thomas Osei 51, a businessman has been charged with five counts of motor traffic offences, use of narcotic drugs and failing to change ownership of the vehicle.

The charges include dangerous driving, negligently causing harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, failing to give way to Presidential siren and the use of narcotic drugs.

The President escaped unhurt.

Osei has pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against him.

The case has been adjourned to May 27.
