The bodies of three persons who were trapped in a cargo truck that plunged into the Tano river Wednesday night are yet to be retrieved.
The truck which had been carrying timber logs was bound for the Sunyani Timber Market.
According to Joy News' correspondents, construction works being carried out on the road must have caused the accident.
There were no warning signs of construction works at the point closest the the river.
The cargo truck which had been speeding missed an alternative route that had been constructed, skidding off into the river.
Attempts by residents to retrieve the truck has proven futile. There are no heavy duty machines anywhere near.
As at 7:30 am Thursday, the cargo and the bodies of the three persons who were on board the vehicle were yet to be retrieved.
Efforts to get support from the security services have also not been successful.
