The Member of Parliament for Zabzugu/Tatale, Mr. Jagri B. Mohammed has said he had spent more than ¢700 million on development projects in the constituency.

Mr. Mohammed told the GNA in an interview at Zabzugu in the Zabzugu/Tatale District that he used part of his MP's share of the District Assemblies' Common Fund on development projects and to pay school fees for some needy school children at the basic level and students in tertiary institutions.

He said a greater part of the money was used to buy grinding mills and solar lanterns for some communities in the constituency.

Eight communities had a grinding mill each at a total cost of about s48 million while 100 solar lanterns worth ¢100 million had been distributed to some communities.

Mr. Mohammed said he had also rehabilitated a dam at Tatale at a cost of ¢100 million and earmarked ¢50 million cedis for projects at Zabzugu and Tatale Secondary schools.

He said he had, through the GETFund, assisted to build a day care centre at Tatale at a cost of ¢100 million and provided ¢66 million to buy exercise books, television sets, footballs and jerseys for schools, hospitals and the community.

The MP said he had also supported some communities with cement and roofing sheets to complete their school blocks and provided ¢70 million towards the training of teachers at the Bimbilla Training College.

Mr. Mohammed appealed to communities that had not yet benefited from any form of development to be patient and wait for their turn.
