The spokesman for the flagbearer of the opposition NDC, Mahama Ayariga has defended the door-to-door campaign strategy adopted by Prof. John Evans Atta Mills for the 2008 elections.

In spite of criticisms of the strategy, Mahama Ayariga also MP for Bawku Central says it has yielded very positive results for the party.

Speaking to Joy News, Mr. Ayariga dismissed suggestions that some leading figures in the party were unhappy with the flagbearer's decision to adopt the door-to-door campaign strategy.

Mr. Ayariga said however that the party had a well-thought-out strategy to ensure that the party's candidate won the 2008 elections.

He said Prof Mills had only one option; to win the 2008 presidential election and had appointed competent campaign officials for the task.
