The Eastern Regional branch of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has appealed to the Central Committee of the party to institute measures against comrades who launched unwarranted attacks on colleagues in public.
This was contained in a resolution passed by the regional executive committee at its meeting at Koforidua.
The statement also called on the central committee of the party to open nominations for presidential hopefuls since the 2008 election was not too far away.
The resolution appealed to the central committee of the party to avoid handpicking of people to stand elections and called for funds to hold constituency elections in preparation for regional and national congresses.
The statement said party cards should be released to the regions for sale to boost membership drive.
The regional branch of the CPP commended the Patriots, a wing of the party, for securing 15 party offices in the region that hitherto had no single office in the 28 constituencies.
