Dan Botwe, the former General Secretary and Minister of Information and National Orientation has declared emphatically that he is the most tested and versatile in the race for the presidency.

According to the 'General' what Ghana needs “is selfless leadership and the ability to select the right talents to perform the job of reducing poverty in our society.”

The 'General' added that “Ghana does not lack talents and it is the onerous duty of a perspicacious leader to visualize the future and plan constructively to always embrace the people who vote us into positions Of authority."

“I do not want the presidency for its sake”. It is a means by which I can encourage the majority of Ghanaians to aspire to greater things. I have lived in a village before and I know the pulse of our long-suffering villagers who produce the food for our table. They do not need much for their survival. What we as leaders must do without blinking is to let them feel that we truly love them."

In response to a question, the 'General' answered that he was riot campaigning for anybody because he has all the qualities of a president.

He revealed that he and a few dedicated members of the NPP were able to wrestle power from a dictator like the former president who had all the resources at his disposal from 1981-2000.

On his plans before the NPP congress, Mr. Botwe said that he had visited 229 out of the 230 constituencies. The only constituency to be visited is the Okaikoi South in the Greater Accra Region where a few problems in the constituency has prevented him from completing the full nationwide tour.

When asked whether he had prepared himself for a second round of voting during the congress, the courageous and adventurous presidential aspirant has this to say, " I know the pulse of the delegates because as the General Secretary I was with them in the trenches".

"We lost sleep in order to strategise and beat the over-confident NDC. It was not an easy task and I am happy to say that the people who know the depth of our sacrifices and dangers we encountered have decided to put the destiny of this nation in my capable hands", he concluded with a warm smile.
