The Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Danquah Smith has said 2008 would not be easy for the NPP.
He has urged NPP functionaries to work harder in order to retain the party in power.
Mr Smith said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was working vigorously to take away the political power from the NPP in 2008.
Addressing a meeting of the Agona West Constituency branch of the party at Swedru on Sunday, he advised faction leaders and their supporters to bury their political differences and work together as a team to retain power.
He warned members who were indulging in gossip and backbiting to desist from those acts because it would dampen the spirit of people and create a room for the opponents to operate.
Mr Smith called for peace and stability in the constituency to pave for the smooth running of the party in the area, saying infighting among the members would not help them to achieve their aims and objectives.
