A presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, has said that politics was the only magic wand to transform drastically the development fortunes of the Volta region into economic stardom.
"If a rapid development of the region was to be envisaged, then it should be tied against politics for socio-economic development," he stressed.
Dr. Apraku was addressing the fundraising launch of the Hohoe-North Constituency of the NPP, which yielded over 20,000 Ghana Cedis (¢200,000,000 cedis) under the theme, "Mobilizing Resources for Agenda 2008".
He said the new confidence and enthusiasm of the party in the region would bring in its wake positive desires but was quick to ask party supporters to remain united and shun tendencies that would sow discord and acrimony.
Dr. Apraku pledged his commitment towards having a good working relationship with the region when elected.
