The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Daniel Ohene-Agyekum, has said that the acquisition of a new complex by the party in Kumasi would enable it strategise effectively to win the 2008 elections.
Mr Agyekum said the regional leadership of the party would now concentrate fully on mapping out strategies for the 2008 elections.
The party was given up to December last year to quit its rented premises at Adum, which it occupied for 15 years but on two occasions it failed to meet the deadline.
For his part, the regional propaganda secretary, Tony Nyame, said when the eviction order was served on the party many people thought that signified the collapse of the party in the region.
"But here we are looking stronger and more capable to beat the NPP on their own turf," he said.
The Ashanti Region is the stronghold of the ruling NPP. Out of the 33 Parliamentary seats in the region the NDC occupies three.
