A 70-year-old New Patriotic Party (NPP) activist has cautioned the party against complacency and underrating the capability of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to wrestle power from the NPP.

Kwabena Adubofour said the NDC had learnt lessons and was poised and strategizing to win Election 2008 and urged the leadership of the NPP to adopt pragmatic measures that would enable the party to retain power.

Mr Adubofour said this at Kuntanase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District at a ceremony organized by the district assembly to fete 40 senior citizens.

He also cautioned the leadership of the party to avoid lip service and show more commitment to the development of the party and the nation.

Nana Akua Amankwaa II, Queenmother of Akokofe, appealed to the government to probe the Metro Mass Transport (MMT) that had become a gold mine for most of its workers.

She said if care were not taken MMT would be declared bankrupt.

Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive thanked the senior citizens for their services to the nation.
