Mr Samuel Gordon Etroo, Western Regional Chairman of Convention People's Party (CPP), has condemned successive governments for privatising Ghanaian State-owned enterprises.

He said privatising these enterprises indicated that those Governments could not manage the State and, therefore, CPP should be given the chance to take control.

Mr Etroo alleged that the ruling New Patriotic Party was bent on privatising all State enterprises by the end of its tenure of office.

He cited Ghana Water Company and current plans to sell Bank of Ghana's shares in the Agricultural Development Bank to Stanbic Bank of South Africa, as some of NPP's move to rid the State of ownership.

Mr Etroo called on Ghanaians not to allow these developments to succeed.

He said the Bonsa Tyre Factory that used to produce tyres locally had collapsed while Ghana Rubber Estate, a world class quality rubber producer, was now exporting its products and by this was creating employment abroad, leaving Ghanaian job seekers with no opportunity.

He said when CPP were voted to power all divested companies would be redeemed to offer employment to Ghanaians.
