President Kufuor returns home

President John Agyekum Kufuor has returned home after attending the 47th Independence celebrations of Congo Brazzaville and Gabon.

At a press briefing on arrival, Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, Minister of Foreign Affairs who accompanied the President said that in Congo Brazzaville, President Kufuor met with the Heads of State of Togo, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, the Democratic Republic of Congo as well as the host.

He said in Gabon, President Kufuor held discussions with President Omar Bongo as well as President Abdulai Wade of Senegal, adding that the discussions mainly centred on issues concerning the African Union.

Those at the airport to welcome the President were Ministers of State and the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. J.B. Danquah and the IGP, Patrick Acheampong.
