A New Patriotic Party (NPP), aspiring parliamentarian has been accused of camping delegates in his home as they congregate for primaries on Tuesday.

The aspirant, Mr. Anthony Abledu, who is also the District Chief Executive of Akatsi has reportedly converted his official residence into a base for delegates in order to convince them to vote for him.

This act is said to have infuriated his competitors and they reported the matter to party regional executives.

The constituency chairman, Mr. Felix Ham-Nugor, confirmed this to Joy News and said he had asked the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to secure the release of the delegates but he was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, the NPP is conducting primaries in all the constituencies in the region to elect parliamentary candidates for the 2008 elections.

In the last elections, the NPP won only one out of the 17 seats in the region.
