The Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has appealed to politicians not to engage in activities that could divide the country on political lines.

Rt. Rev. Frimpong-Manso made the call at the weekend when he was addressing members of the Ejisu-Krapah Local Council of Churches as part of his pastoral visit to Ashanti Region.

He noted that the time has come for Ghanaians to know that before the era of colonization Ghanaians were living harmoniously with each other.

He entreated Christian politicians to distinguish themselves from the worldly ones by using decent language during their campaigns.

Rt. Rev. Frimpong-Manso, who is also the Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana, urged politicians to present their developmental plans and their visions for the country to the electorate instead of attacking personalities on their platforms.

He reminded them that if for their selfish interest they divided the country, God would hold them accountable.

The Moderator advised the electorate not to allow politicians to use money to influence them in their voting "since their votes were their power."

He commended the churches at Ejisu and Krapah in the Ejisu Juaben District for coming together to form the Local Council of Churches to spread the word of God.

He advised them to lead lives worthy of emulation.

The Moderator later inaugurated the Ejisu-Krapah Local Council of Churches Executive Board, with Rev. Kusi Appiah, Circuit Minister of Ejisu Methodist Circuit as chairman.
