Listen to Kwamena Duncan in an interview with Joy News' Sammy Darko

The Central Regional Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) say they are disappointed over the party’s inability to raise two billion cedis at a fund raising rally.

The party organized a rally on Saturday to raise enough funds for campaign activities in the 2008 elections.

The rally was also to help the party deepen its popularity, but according to the Central Region NPP Secretary, Kwamena Duncan, the party was not impressed at the outcome of the fundraising. He said they could not even meet half of their expectations.

Mr. Duncan explained that the party was hoping to use the two billion cedis to train and equip party foot soldiers and polling agents as well as meet office expenditure.

Mr. Duncan however, expressed the determination of the party to forge ahead and do all it can to raise the needed funds for the intended projects.
