Mr. Dominic Anomah, a- 61-year old retired educationist and former District Secretary for Offinso in the Ashanti Region was at the weekend elected un-opposed as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for 2008 elections.

The election of Mr. Anomah was by popular acclamation as all the 102 delegates gave him the nod.

The election was supervised by the Electoral Commission.

Oheneba Osei Bonsu, National Vice-Chairman of the NDC earlier in an address said the government of the
New Patriotic Party (NPP) in its seven year rule has failed Ghanaians in providing their needs.

He said the task ahead of the party was challenging and appealed to supporters and rank and file of the
party to adopt house-to-house campaign strategies to ensure the victory of the party in 2008 elections.

Oheneba Bonsu stressed the need for them to be vigilant to thwart any attempt by the NPP to rig the
2008 elections.

Mr. Abubakar Iddisah, Chairman of the Old Tafo Constituency of the NDC was happy for the peaceful
manner the elections was conducted and urged the supporters and followers of the party to work harder
to wrest power from the NPP.

Mr. Anomah thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in electing him and asked them to rally behind him to enable him to win the 2008 general elections.
