Ghanaians are satisfied with my Govt – JAK

President John Agyekum Kufuor, on Sunday expressed the conviction that the people of Ghana have accepted his government because of the good economic foundation he has laid, "Ghanaians are satisfied with my government", he stressed.

He said he could not have achieved these giant strides on the economy without the support of competent team members like the Presidential aspirants, adding that "so I tell you today that they are all capable of managing the economy of this nation".

The President was speaking at Kasoa in the Awutu-Senya District in the Central Region, at a rally organised by the national executives of the (NPP) to showcase all the 17 qualified Presidential Aspirants who would be contesting the flagbearership of the Party come December, 22nd.

He debunked the notion that the candidates vying for the position were too many, saying this should inform Ghanaians that the NPP have 100s of Presidential qualities to manage the country.

The rally dubbed: "Election 2008, NPP Victory in Unity", President Kufuor assured all that he would support anybody who emerges the winner come Dec. 22nd He said "all the aspirants are brothers, so lets not breed any hatred among us".

"Let us hold fast the unity we have toiled for over the years", he added. The Leader of the Party asked all the delegates to elect a leader that everybody would help market. The President observed that Ghanaians are looking forward for NPP delegates to elect somebody that he would hand over to.

He was surprised at the number of supporters who trooped to the rally grounds to catch a glimpse of all the 17 aspirants vying for the Presidency.

All the contestants took their turn to address the crowd. They all pledged to preach peace among themselves before and after the Congress. The General Secretary of the Party, Nana Ohene Ntow, asked all delegates and supporters of aspirants to exercise restrain at the Congress grounds, on December, 22nd.


Captain (Rtd) Nkrabeah Effah Dartey who was disqualified by the vetting committee on the grounds of treason and had appealed, told the supporters that he would support anybody who emerged the winner.


The Chairman of the Party, Mr. Peter Mac-Manu, said the NPP was growing from strength to strength and that there is nothing that can break the party's front.
